• Kassy Ballard – Kassy is a 2015 graduate of Green- wood High School and the grandchild of retired Sebastian County Judge’s Administra- tive Assistant Suzanne Ballard. Kassy will attend the Univer- sity of Arkansas at Fort Smith, where she will pursue a degree in health sciences. Kassy is this year’s recipient of
the Matt Morris Scholarship. Te scholarship was estab- lished following the death in 1999 of Matt Morris. Matt was the son of Searcy Mayor David Morris, who is a former AAC employee. Matt was an Arkansas Razorback baseball recruit. Te scholarship is

Conway High School and the granddaughter of deceased In- dependence County Justice of the Peace James Kemp. Kath- erine is attending Ouachita Baptist University, where she is pursuing a degree in mass communications. Tis is the second year Katherine has re- ceived the Kemp Scholarship. Katherine is the great-niece of the scholarship’s namesake, Randy Kemp. Randy served as AAC communications director from July 2008 until his death in August 2011. Te scholarship is funded exclu- sively by the annual AAC golf tournament and awarded each year to an applicant who plans to study journalism or mass communications.
