Poplar Wood Farm CSA Accepting New Applications P


oplar Wood Farm, in Port Murray, New Jersey, is accepting new applications for their community supported agriculture (CSA) program. Every week, they survey the fields and select a variety of fresh organic vegetables which will be harvested and packed into each individual share to be picked up at the location of choice.

Street—9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays; Historic Downtown Jersey City Farmer’s Market, in Jersey City, at Grove Street PATH station—4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and Hamilton Park Farmers’ Market, in Jersey City—3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays. A CSA is a mutually beneficial relationship between a farm and the com- munity of people that receive food the farm produces. Members commit to a full season of produce prior to the start of the growing season, and in return receive a weekly share, containing an assortment of fresh, nutritious vegetables.

Liberty State Park Earth Day H


udson County Earth Day 2015 will be celebrated at Liberty State Park with a 5K Run/Walk at 10 a.m. and a Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 25. Race regis- tration begins at 7:30 a.m. With magnificent views of the New York City skyline, this day-long event provides an excellent op- portunity to learn more about the environment and create a memorable experience for the whole family.


Attendees are invited to visit the Wishing Trees and make a pledge to perform one act that can lead the way to make our Hudson municipalities greener. The Kids’ Kingdom features environmentally themed displays, strolling enter- tainers, information about services available throughout Our Hudson Home, free tree seedlings, free crafts, giveaways and activities for the kids.

Modern Sage Block Party and Health Festival
