hello cargo
HELPING CUSTOMERS AROUND THE GLOBE TO REALISE THEIR GOALS
Major international corporations in the Energy and Oil & Gas industries have been highly valued customers of Volga-Dnepr Group since the very start of our business nearly 25 years ago.
This support has enabled us to grow every year and to invest in the continued development of our fl eet and the diversifi cation of our service offering. We have also made a big difference for our customers by providing previously unavailable solutions for the movement of outsize and heavy equipment and products by air.
Air logistics is fast and reliable when you need it to be, for example replacing a broken piece of equipment that has brought production to a halt and possibly causing losses of millions of dollars. It is also a strategic solution that, because of its predictability, can be used as a vital part of large, long-term projects.
In this issue of Car go Supermark et, we
devote our main Q&A feature to the Volga- Dnepr and Ruslan International specialists that work closely with our customers in the Energy and Oil & Gas sectors and I am sure you will fi nd their comments interesting and informative.
At Volga-Dnepr Group, we see our role extending far beyond the process of just moving cargo. It is much more important
than that. We know that the work we do has a far greater impact and helps our customers and partners fulfi l their promises to their customers.
A perfect example of this is the work of an international group of companies, including Volga-Dnepr, to support ExxonMobil’s new liquefi ed natural gas project in Papua New Guinea.
Air logistics has played a vital role in the success of this project. For our part, Volga- Dnepr acted as a consultant for the building of a new runway in the PNG jungle capable of taking our An-124 cargo fl ights. This was fi ve years before we operated our fi rst fl ight to the new airport. And then, in 2013, over the space of 103 days, we operated 88 An- 124 freighter fl ights delivering 6,000 tonnes of essential equipment for the project.
But as I said, the benefi t of what we do does not end with the arrival of the cargo. Our work is only complete when our customer has achieved its objective. That is why we were so proud that in April this year, the fi rst shipment of LNG left Papua New Guinea.
PNG is now ‘home’ to a production plant that will produce gas supplies for Asia for the next 30 years – and bring new employment, new opportunities and prosperity to the local population.
Speaking about the project in May of this year, the
Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Mr Peter O’Neill, made his views clear when he said: “This project has brought signifi cant economic benefi ts to our country that will last for generations to come. Not only will the people of Papua New Guinea now benefi t, their children and grandchildren will continue to enjoy the benefi ts and positive effects from this valuable resource development for many years to come.”
This is only one example where our customers have used our unique capability to achieve a goal that delivers far, far greater benefi ts.
We remain at your service and value your support.
