Termite Protection Contract Due to Florida’s termite problem, it is required by law that a pest control company provides proof after a termite protection treatment is performed on new homes in the form of a contract. For new construction this contract is valid for a year and can be renewed for up to four additional years. If buying an older home, it is recommended, but not mandatory by law, to have a termite inspection and obtain a termite contract.
