Delicious Dart Trail

he Delicious Dart Trail is a trail running event with a difference.

Inspired by the Marathon du Medoc, France’s famous festival of wine and running, the Delicious Dart Trail takes runners on a gastronomic tour of the spectacular Dart estuary. starting at Dartington Hall,

participants run to Dartmouth via sharpham, Dittisham and Kingswear, sampling a mouth-watering variety of locally produced food and drink along the way. By the time they reach Dartmouth, the runners have clocked up 15 miles of scenic riverside trail and tasted over a dozen different beers, wines, soft drinks, savouries and puddings. A 10 mile route with a steam train ride to the finish is also an option. The event, which organiser, Kate

Treleaven, describes as ‘a food festival on the run’, first took place in 2013. 220 runners entered and £5,000 was raised for kids’ cancer charity ClIC sargent. This year the event takes place on saturday 1st March and funds are being raised for CHICKs, a Devon based charity which provides respite breaks for disadvantaged children from all over the uK.
