LoavesNfishes
This is a small food bank founded a year ago by two people connected to a primary school in Sevenoaks. It supports over twenty needy families across the Sevenoaks District by providing them with a bag of non-perishable food every week of the year. The food comes from a variety of sources, including Sainsburys and local schools and churches. Even so, there are occasions when the stocks run low. It is important to sustain the supply so as not to let down the vulnerable families. This is especially true over school holiday periods when free school meals are not available.
St. Bart’s PCC has expressed its support for this charity. The scheme works by people
donating small amounts of food each week; for example, if a supermarket is running a 3 for 2 offer, the additional item might be donated. For a trial period we will have a collecting box available at the back of Church on Sundays and in the Church Office midweek. Volunteers from the LoavesNfishes charity bag up and distribute the food between 1 & 4 pm on Thursdays at St. John’s Church Hall, Sevenoaks.
Suggested food items to add to your shopping list include breakfast cereal, rice/pasta
(1 kg), potatoes (tinned/instant), oatcakes/crackers, tinned vegetables, tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, tinned ham/corned beef, tinned mince/stew, tinned soup, cup-a-soup, fruit juice (long-life), tinned custard, UHT milk, tea bags, coffee, sugar, condensed milk (also toothpaste and toothbrushes).

Christmas Market - Thank you My sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the Christmas Market such a success and especially to Santa’s deputy, also his helpers who sold gifts from the tree and greeted visitors, to the stall holders who worked so hard beforehand and on the day, to Janet and her helpers in the kitchen and to everyone who came and supported us. The weather was wet and windy outside but inside we had the warm and cheerful church centre with the stalls laden with superb goodies, delicious refreshments and lots of people creating a truly joyous atmosphere. The total raised was £2,345.50 - amazing! Well done everyone!
