Landscape royal 8vo. original brown cloth-backed patterned pale mushroom boards incorporating an illustration in colours on upper cover, rounded corners, Art nouveau pastedowns, preserved in buff dustwrapper printed in green and replicating the design of the boards; pp. [16]; with pictorial title in colours, 8 fine chromolithographed plates and other illustrations in brown; a fine and exceptional copy, both internally and externally, protected by a very good example of the friable dustwrapper with small chips, and short associated tears, to corner folds and one slightly larger triangular area of loss at tail of spine (37 x 40mm).

[28]; with 14 striking chromolithographed plates; externally fine and sharp; internally very good with, apparently, new free endpapers expertly supplied, with some yellowing to stock throughout and occasional, and fairly minor, yellow spotting affecting lower corner of two or three music leaves; the plates all in fine condition; a beautiful example of a very scarce book.


First edition. A glorious doll book, with musical verses and accompanying illustrations in Arts-and-Crafts style depicting a young girl playing with her toys.


Only one copy located through KVK (Deutsche nationalbibliothek, Leipzig).

Landscape 4to. original green cloth-backed pictorial boards patterned in black and illustrated in colours, rounded corners, Art nouveau pastedowns, preserved in the original buff pictorial dustwrapper printed in green; pp. [16]; with pictorial title page, 8 colour lithographed plates, and other illustrations in sepia; a fine and exceptional copy with a tiny paper bookseller’s label partially covering the imprint on the title page; internally also near fine; the uncommon dustwrapper in unusually fresh state with slightly open splits to edge folds (now archivally repaired to the reverse), narrow loss to head and tail of spine, and a few other short nicks and tears to edges.

Fourth printing. A collection of five fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, including “Jorinde und Joringel”.
