At this point, Arnold shared a great secret on how to keep any car club healthy. “Peppe,” he said, “we have a


great group of ladies who do a lot of work for the club. In order to thank them, we have a Ladies Appreciation Day.” For all of us other car clubs, this

is something that we should add to our events: a special day or night where we shine up our cars, book a nice restaurant and take our better halves out to thank them for their help and support. Looking back, the Capital A’s


have no regrets with their decision to split from the “fast guys”. The truth is, that club no longer exists. The guys have not only survived. They are increasing their membership. drive their cars around the track at the Rideau Carleton Raceway. This perk allowed the club to


host a “Joe Bahro around the Track Night”. Joe, who is waging a coura- geous battle against Cancer, was there for that ride in his Model A. (We are all in your corner, Joe.) I felt admiration and joy after this


interview with Arnold: admiration for the manner in which the Capital A’s have been able to keep their club vi- brant and going strong after all these years. Joy for the plain and simple reason that the three hours I spent with Arnold were filled with laugh- ter and great stories. He gave me a
