SOUNDCRAFT |SI COMPACT www.soundcraft.com

With full DSP functionality built-in to a small-footprint chassis, the Si Compact provides up to 40 inputs to mix in three frame sizes, the smallest of which is also rack-mountable. Motorised faders with patented Soundcraft FaderGlow operate on two layers, but the main difference from similarly priced mixers is the provision of a full encoder set for all the functions on a channel, from input gain through EQ and dynamics to bus controls. Drawing on its bigger brothers; Soundcraft’s acclaimed Si Series, the new Si Compact packs powerful digital mixing facilities along with stunning Lexicon effects into a trio of small footprint consoles available in 16, 24 or 32 mic/line input formats, with four stereo returns. No layering of the audio controls makes operation fast and simple, and with four separate Lexicon FX processors with dedicated FX busses in addition to the main mixes, and BSS Graphic EQ for every bus, you’ll never find yourself wishing you had more processing power. Features like dedicated FX busses, 16 line outputs plus AES, an option card slot for MADI or other connectivity, a Global Mode for instant access to Pan, Gain and Filters, a colour touchscreen interface and FaderGlow equip Si Compact to easily handle a range of live sound mixing applications.

VISUAL PRODUCTIONS | PERSONALITY BUILDER www.visualproductions.nl

Visual Productions has released a tool for creating personality files for use within Cuelux. This tool - the ‘Builder’ - is available for Mac OS and Windows and is free for download from the website. The Builder offers a friendly GUI (Graphical User Interface) for creating and editing personality files. Users can amend existing fixtures or start building their own fixtures from scratch. The personality files (sometimes referred to as ‘profiles’) are visualized by a coloured diagram to indicate good data and to highlight typical mistakes when inputting the fixture’s DMX table; like overlapping channels and values. Personality files created with the Builder can be used directly by Cuelux; the Builder also features an upload function to send the newly created file to Visual Productions’ server to be included in the next software release. With the release of the Builder application Visual Productions is still continuing its free-of-charge service to create personality files on user’s request, however, the Builder is specifically addressing situations where personalities are required outside office hours.

WIRELESS SOLUTION | BLUEBOX www.wirelessdmx.com

BlueBox is the industry’s first PC-based intelligent, integrated DMX and RDM controller software. Built from the ground up specifically for controlling large rigs of RDM enabled products, the BlueBox RDM controller allows users to search for any RDM enabled product in a DMX / RDM Network, automatically patch the fixture, and control the fixture, as well as receive status updates on the fixture and configure settings such as fixture mode, lamp on/off and more. This makes the BlueBox RDM controller perfect for quick setup and programming of corporate and live event rigs, and is ideal for autonomous monitoring of large scale lighting installations in architectural environments. The BlueBox RDM controller is built with a set of features specifically for the W-DMX G4 range. BlueBox will automatically search for and find any G4 transmitters and RDM enabled G4 receivers and display them clearly on the screen. The DMX controller allows cue lists to be built, coupled with powerful timing control to enable automatic, architectural or event lighting to take place, with minimal user interven- tion. The clear, concise fixture alerting system alerts the user if there are any problems with fixtures on screen and by email, virtually eliminating all manual checking of fixtures in fixed installations.

WORXAUDIO TECHNOLOGIES | TRUELINE V5 www.worxaudio.com

Like all loudspeakers systems in the WorxAudio TrueLine Series, the transducer complement in the V5 is top notch. This outstanding loudspeaker incor- porates a medium format 1-inch exit compression driver coupled to a stabilised, proprietary FlatWave Former (wave shaping device) that delivers clear, penetrating high frequencies over a predictable and controlled coverage area. Dual 5-inch cone transducers coupled to the Acoustic Intergrading Module (A.I.M.) minimise cone filtering throughout the entire operating range. The WorxAudio V5 has a 120o symmetrical horizontal coverage pattern and a 10o verti- cal dispersion pattern arrayable in 1o increments. The V5 is a 16 ohm passive loudspeaker system that provides tremendous flexibility in terms of assembling multiple box setups all driven by a common amplifier. For fixed installations, the TrueAim Grid has a 10:1 weight management rating, resulting in the ability to fly as many as twenty four elements with 1o pin increments for precise positioning -enabling system designers to assemble a potent sound system with minimal line of sight issues compared to many other loudspeaker setups. For corporate A/V and other special events, the TrueAim Grid can support three V5 elements atop the grid and can be pole mounted for a highly portable ‘speaker on a stick’ sound system.

XTA | ICORE2 www.xta.co.uk

XTA’s iCore software package was developed to provide the interface for sister company MC2 Audio’s Ti Series and XTA’s DC1048 integrated audio management system. The new iCore2 package has been extended to support all 4Series products as well as adding a number of features that will make operating systems - whether in live sound or fixed installations simpler. The XTA 4-Series is completely supported by iCore. Although Library Manager files cannot be handled by iCore, presets and memories can be uploaded from 4-Series devices to iCore. Settings can be intelligently copied and pasted from 4 Series memories and presets into DC1048 devices to assemble new configurations without having to start from scratch. The linking of parameters between units simplifies system control and becomes a powerful tool when used in conjunction with custom control panels. In Design Mode custom panels can be created to control one or any number of units or parameters. With a library of faders, buttons, knobs and LEDS sound engineers and designers can decide what they want access to instantly or group together. iCore now has a handy auto-update engine which detects when a new version of the software has been made available and alerts the user to update. iCore2 works with Windows XP, Vista and Win7.

ZERO 88 | ORB XF www.zero88.com

Cooper Controls has introducede the ORB XF - the latest member of Zero 88’s ZerOS suite of lighting control consoles. Designed to sit alongside the existing ORB console, the ORB XF has been designed for professional users requiring hands on live control. ORB XF adds fader control for intensity channels and live submaster playback, making it ideal for control of live events.ORB XF features 60 multipurpose faders which can be utilised as channel controls (page- able across your entire patch), submasters (pageable across 20 pages) or playbacks (the bottom 20 faders only). A dual colour LED flash button under the fader indicates the current function of each fader. Combining theatrical syntax and an interactive hardware platform, ORB XF provides intuitive control of both generic dimmers and moving lights.
