NATHAN Smithers, a Greenkeeper from West Sussex, is lead singer of Bon Jovi tribute band, Born to Be Jovi. He wears leather trousers and has perfected that Jon Bon Jovi strut. Nathan realised he sounded like Jon when he won a karaoke competition when singing You Give Love a Bad Name, BJ’s biggest hit to date.
So he got a shaggy haircut, and, with the help of his wife Natasha, shopped for a new wardrobe full of ripped denim and bandannas.
Then, together with his best mate and Quote me happy

brother, Nathan formed Born to Be Jovi. He spent hours perfecting his act watching videos of the real band to make sure his mannerisms were spot on.
And it appears to have paid off - Born to Be Jovi play about four gigs a month, although it’s not quite enough for Nathan to give up his job as a greenkeeper. Last word from Natasha, “I’d defy anyone not to get excited when your husband looks and sounds just like Jon Bon Jovi. I’ve got the best of both worlds. I get the fantasy when he sings, and a hunk off stage.” And the smell of grass no doubt!
