the Board of Edu- cation, she contin- ued teaching. She helped rebuild the school system in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Throughout the
1970s, during her summer breaks,
she was one of the few women, and fewer African-Amer- ican women driv- ers for Greyhound. This sparked a life- long love of travel. She loved to dance roller skate.
She is survived
