CLASSIC CARS
DAVE WOOLLEY
Lazy Days
Fsssst! A can of cold beer opens. A 1967
Chevelle engine revs. Ahh! The sounds of summer. Those hazy
lazy days of summer are right around the corner. When I was growing up in Ottawa in the
1960s, a summer night often consisted of a few drag races on Carling Ave, a drive-in movie at The Britannia or Auto Sky Drive-In, followed by a hamburg and fries at The Royal Burger. Yearning to re-live
those fantastic days awhile back, I popped out to a Hazeldean Cruise Night and saw the most
awesome display of old cars: Corvettes
from the 50s to the 2000s, Thunderbirds from the famous 1955 model to the late 60s; old coupes, trucks, Cameros, Chevelles,
Studebakers Avantis, trucks, Model Ts. The impulses were
flowing as I saw three or four cars for sale. But very few people purchase a classic car
in Ottawa without checking with Larry Way. Larry is a legend in the classic car world,
