JETFORM, ALBA / SB POOLS AND CHESHIRE WELLNESS TOP THE LIST AS BIG WINNERS AT THE 34TH ANNUAL SPATA AWARDS CELEBRATING THE BEST POOLS IN THE BUSINESS

etform Swimming Pools, based in Ramsden Heath in Essex, Cheshire Wellness and Alba Pools from Angus in Scotland were the three big ‘golden‘ winners at the 2010 SPATA Awards in Brighton.

Jetform Services celebrated after winning two gold awards and taking home the top award of the night. The gold awards were given to Jetform for ‘Best Concrete Pools £60,000 and Over’, ‘Best Residential Indoor Pools Over £75,000 and up to £15,000’ sponsored by Golden Coast as well as scooping the prestigious ‘Pool of the Year’ award. Terry Wakefield, Managing Director of Jetform Services said: “We are delighted to win all of these awards, particularly because of the stiff competition this year. This recognition gives credit to the workforce we have that we were able to build the stunning pools that we submitted for judging.” Alba / SB Pools, won three gold and one silver. The gold awards were for ‘Best Commercial Pool at Least 25m in Length’ sponsored by Astral, ‘Best Domestic Refurbishment’ and ‘Best In- ground Spas and Health Pools over £25,000’ and a silver for ‘Best Commercial Pool under 25m in Length’ sponsored by Heatstar Ltd. Founded by brothers William and Stephen Booth, Alba / SB Pools has been building pools for over 20 years, gaining a reputation for high quality products and excellent service throughout the UK. They pride themselves in attention to detail and stunning design. The

awards were for a new 25m school pool in Perthshire, a new hotel spa pool in Edinburgh and the refurbishment of an existing domestic pool originally built by the company 20 years ago in Fife. The Silver Award was won for a stunning new hotel pool in Edinburgh. Another big winner at the 34th awards ceremony were Cheshire Wellness, based in Wirral, is celebrating after winning two gold awards and a silver. The gold awards were given to Cheshire Wellness, for ‘Best Residential Indoor Pools Over £150,000’ sponsored by Golden Coast and ‘Best Commercial Pool under 25m in Length’. Paul Hilton, Managing Director of Cheshire Wellness, says: “This is the first year we’ve brought everyone to this event, and it’s great to have the whole team here celebrating. We are all absolutely thrilled with the awards we’re taking home.”

Nottinghamshire based Beaver International collected gold in the ‘Environmental Award’ category sponsored by Calorex.

Another gold winner was Gillingham Pools from Guernsey who won gold and silver for ‘Best Concrete Pools up to £60,000’ sponsored by OASE and took home gold for ‘Best Non Traditional Pool Installations’. Richard Gillingham, Managing Director of Gillingham Pools, said: “We are delighted to take home gold and silver this evening. They show the workmanship of the whole team which has enabled us to win these awards,

which is a fantastic achievement.” Home Counties Horsham Ltd took home two gold awards back to Sussex for ‘Best Liner Pools £35,000 and Over’, ‘Best Above-ground Pool’. They also received two silver awards in ‘Liner Pools £35,000 and Over’ and ‘The Peter Geekie Award for Retail Excellence’ sponsored by Certikin.

Tanby Swimming Pools, from Warlingham, Surrey won a hat-trick of awards – gold given for ‘Best In-ground Spas and Health Pools up to £25,000’, a silver in the ‘Inground Spas and Health Pools over £25,000’ category and a bronze for ‘Innovation’ in recognition of the company’s outstanding design and construction. Martin Borley, of Tanby Swimming Pools, said: “Winning these awards is great recognition for the whole Tanby team who have put a lot of hard work into all of the construction projects this year and we’re absolutely thrilled to win. “Winning is a great achievement, especially given the tough competition this year.” Another double winner was Asher Swimpool Centre, from Grantham, who collected gold and silver. The gold award was for ‘Best Liner Pools up to £35,000’ and the company received silver for the Calorex sponsored ‘Environmental Award’. Claire Asher, Managing Director of Swimpool Centre said: “We are absolutely thrilled to win especially the gold award for Best Liner Pools up to £35,000. It’s a great achievement for the team.”
