Oryan’s “Tree of Life” series into his ‘Gaia” Series. The “Gaia” Series is a collection of paintings that bring nature, wildlife, and the human figure together in a captivating, artistic fashion. The “Gaia” Series also adds an increased level of technical demand as figurative painting requires great attention to detail. Oryan begins with a live model and translates the figure onto the canvas in classic ‘underpainting style’ with layer upon layer of black and white acrylics. Over 30 layers of paint are carefully applied to orchestrate the successful shading and definition of the human figure. Once he is satisfied with the character, Oryan applies

his “liquid fusion” technique. Occasionally, the “Gaia” series incorporates animals instead of the human form, emphasizing even further the wonder of the natural world surrounding us.
Oyran is ever appreciative of the well- spring of inspiration from his youth. He was raised in southern California nestled between glistening beaches and rugged coastal mountains. Aesthetic influence surrounded Oyan in the form of color, light, and harmony. Artistic support came from his Welsh grandfather, a respected pattern maker, who quickly recognized Oryan’s innate creativity and provided his imagination with a limitless supply of
support, practical guidance and access to workshop materials. Thus began Oryan’s life-long path of self-discovery to become the established, self-taught artist he is today. For these opportunities and the growing level of success he is experiencing, Oryan is deeply grateful. “It is so rare that a person gets to truly live the life of an artist,” he states. To Oryan, living the life of an artist requires true dedication. Collector demands for his artwork-both originals and limited editions-have amplified. Oryan is in the studio Monday through Saturday, early to late, constantly creating, enjoying all ranges of the process. “I am very thankful and humbled.”
