measurement, from Canadian manufacturer OpSens Solutions. Utilising the principles of white light polarisation interferometry (WLPI) and semiconductor band gap (SCBG) technology, these sensors perform exceptionally well in harsh and high/low temperature environments, being immune to RF, MRI, EMI, nuclear and microwave radiation. Cable runs of 3km are possible with no degradation in measurement accuracy and sensors are available in a robust industrial design for fit and forget applications. Techni Measure are excited to add this technology to our wide range of sensors and solutions for the measurement of strain, vibration, displacement, force, pressure, torque, orientation and temperature. We will be happy to discuss your application and propose a solution to any measurement requirement.

New SomatXR modules expand range of applications

BM - a market leader in the field of test and measurement - is pleased to announce it has developed three new modules, designed to make the SomatXR data acquisition system even more powerful and flexible. Specifically developed for use in harsh environments, the latest additions to the HBM range includes the MX840B-R and SomatXR MX411B-R amplifiers and the SomatXR MX471B-R CAN module. The MX840B-R is a universal amplifier, which offers eight channels for connecting over 16 different transducer technologies, making it the perfect solution for various measurement tasks that require the use of many different transducers. With four channels and a data rate of up to 100 kS/s per channel, SomatXR MX411B-R is ideally suited for highly dynamic measurement tasks, such as vibration measurements and impact tests, which requires precise measurement.

from laser process gas analysers

Q

uantitech has launched a range of process gas analysers based on tuneable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS). “Over 8,000 instruments have been installed around the world, but the manufacturer Focused Photonics Inc (FPi) is new to the UK,” says Quantitech MD Keith Golding. “By utilising

‘single-line’ spectroscopy, the Laser Gas

Analyser (LGA) range can be configured for continuous analysis of a number of key compounds, with an enormous dynamic range from single figure ppm to % levels, without interference from other process components. Purchase and operational costs are low which delivers a fast payback,” he adds.
