San Antonio Steel Marks 50th Anniversary

S

AN ANTONIO STEEL COMPANY (SASCO), one of the nation’s

leading wholesale distributors of agricultural fencing and construc- tion reinforcement products, is cel- ebrating 50 years in business. SASCO was founded in 1965 as

a wholesale distribution company that focused on nails and wire. L.C. “Chaz” Neely Jr. purchased the company in 1979, and with the support of his family and dedicated employees, SASCO has grown in sales year-over-year to become the largest wholesale distributor of ag- ricultural fencing in the U.S. Today, SASCO offers more than

700 steel items, including some of the most respected brand names in agricultural fencing products, such as The 50-Year Fence by StaTite50 and Texas Classic. The company operates from an 80,000 square- foot facility on 20 acres in south- east San Antonio and primarily services rural lumberyards, feed stores and cooperatives that supply farmers, ranchers and construction companies.
