Redrow targets 2015 graduates


Homes has launched its 2015 graduate recruitment campaign. The FTSE-250 housebuilder runs a number of programmes perfect for university leavers to get a strong foothold on the career ladder. Proving its commitment to nurturing young talent, the company has just taken on 20 new graduate trainees and 15% of its 1,400-strong workforce now has trainee status. A study by High Fliers Research showed that three-quarters of students surveyed began exploring career options before their final year of study. A quarter of those who started their job hunt early, began looking in their first year at university. Karen Jones, HR director for Redrow, said: “Our graduate scheme offers university leavers an opportunity to get a head start in a competitive industry with first rate opportunities for career

progression. Many of our current directors started their careers with us as graduate trainees. “We’re constantly evolving our training programmes to ensure we attract the brightest young talent into our ranks


while meeting the needs of our rapidly changing business.


“Our two-year graduate rotational programme is now in its fifth year and we’ve recently taken on seven new participants who will spend time in each of our departments so they can experience all aspects of the business. We’ve also enlisted nine participants onto our sales trainee programme and another two who will undertake a specific technical programme.


“This year we’re also recruiting two graduates on to our business support scheme. One has already been taken on by our sustainability department and we are looking to

appoint an IT graduate also.” This year’s 20 new recruits are all aged between 21 and 24. Redrow is now taking applications for its 2015 programme and will be attending a number of careers fairs at universities around the country over the next few weeks.
