Daniel Basurto González is the founding and managing partner at Iniciativa para el Desarrollo Ambiental y Sustentable (IDEAS), a renowned Environmental Law firm in Mexico City. He graduated from the Universidad Anáhuac in 1983, and has been involved in all aspects of Environmental Law ever since 1987. In Mexico, Mr. Basurto has developed and coordinated environmental law courses and diplomas at several prestigious law schools; in addition he is an active member within global commissions and organizations with an environmental reach. In particular, Mr. Basurto has acted as Chairman of COPAMEX, CONCAMIN and the Mexican Bar, and he was a member of NAFTA’s Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC).
At an international level, Mr. Basurto is the President of Environment and Energy Commission at the International Chamber of Commerce, as well as an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA), in 2013; he authored the Mexican Chapter of the Practitioner’s guide to the Laws of the Planet
