ABOUT JAIME HUMBERTO TOBAR ORDOÑEZ Mr. Tobar holds a JD from Universidad del Rosario (Bogotá, Colombia) and post-graduate degrees in Financial and Procedural Law from Universidad del Rosario; Constitutional Law from the Center of Constitutional Studies of Madrid (Madrid, Spain) and Comparative Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Madrid, Spain). Before founding Tobar & Romero Abogados, Mr. Tobar worked as Chief Legal Counsel of Delta Bolívar Compañía de Financiamiento Comercial, and was a local partner of the Bogotá office of Baker & McKenzie, where he led the dispute resolution department.


He is a member of the rosters of arbitrators of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, the Arbitration Center of the Colombo-Italian

Chamber, the Corporate Arbitration Center of the Colombian Superintendence of Corporations (Superintendencia de Sociedades) and the Arbitration Center of the Colombian Securities Market Self-Regulator (Autoregulador del Mercado de Valores). He is also a member of the roster of non-national arbitrators of the Free-Trade Agreement between the United States of America, Dominican Republic and Central America (DR-CAFTA).


Mr. Tobar has been a lecturer of civil procedure and commercial law and is currently a member of the Colombian Institute of Procedural Law, the Center of Studies of Competition Law -CEDEC-, the Commercial Lawyers Association and of the Colombian Committee of Arbitration.


ABOUT RAFAEL ROMERO SIERRA Mr. Romero is a former Justice of the Civil Chamber of the Colombian Supreme Court. He is a law graduate of the Universida Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá, Colombia). Before his appointment to the Supreme Court, Mr. Romero served as Trial Judge of Bogotá, Judge of the Bogotá Circuit and Judge of the Civil Chamber of the Bogotá Tribunal of Appeals. After stepping down from the Court and prior to founding Tobar & Romero Abogados, Mr. Romero worked as Of Counsel of the dispute resolution department of the Bogotá office of Baker & McKenzie.
