FOUNDED IN AUGUST 2013, Bica Studios was set up by Nuno Folhadela and Miguel Tomas as part of the Start Up Lisboa business incubator. It was one of 250 companies chosen to receive funding and support. The Bica team is currently busy on its debut title: Smash It! Witch Adventures (pictured) for iOS and Android. The game is to be released in two parts: a free Challenge mode and a paid-for single-player campaign. Next, Bica is working on an unannounced puzzle game. The team says its goal is to become an established developer with plenty of strong IPs within the next three years.

BIG BIT WAS formed by former members of Black Rock Studios in May 2011. Studio head and CEO Nick Baynes was previously game director at Black Rock, overseeing the likes of Split Second and Pure. Since forming, the studio has
