Director fi ling period opens in January NWEC announces vacancy for District 8 seat


T


he fi ling period for three North- western Electric board member seats opens Jan. 2. The seats


up for election are: District 7, Lee Huckaby of Selman; District 8, Dean Stone of Buffalo; and District 9, Gil Perkins of Gate. Stone announced he is stepping down from his position in April leaving a vacancy for the direc- tor seat in District 8. Members wishing to place their names on the ballot should contact the administrative assistant, Rhonda McMakin, for an offi cial nomination


form. Members seeking nomination must be a bona fi de resident in the district in which they are a member. Candidates must obtain the signature


of three other qualifi ed members from the same district on the nomination form. The forms must be completed and returned to McMakin or the sec- retary of the Cooperative, John Bruce, Jr., no later than the fi rst business day in the month of February prior to the date of the district meeting. In ac- cordance with the Bylaws, the current director of each district shall call a


separate meeting not less than 30 days nor more than 60 days before the an- nual meeting. Northwestern Electric will announce the meeting dates, which will fall between Feb. 10 and Mar. 10, in the January issue of Northwestern Electric News.

f you have driven past our Wood- ward offi ce in the past few weeks, you probably noticed a lot of con- struction activity taking place! Northwestern Electric is adding a new truck barn to accommodate the bucket trucks, digger truck and fl eet

vehicles. The new barn will add addi- tional sheltered parking for the trucks. The old offi ce space in the ware- house has been gutted and additional offi ce room is being added. The for- mer offi ces have been in place for over 40 years. The new addition will pro-


vide more offi ce space, locker rooms and an up-to-date meter room. With advances in technology taking place almost daily, the new facility will give our linemen access to the tools and technology they need to help meet our members’ needs.
