The 15th Return To Camden


Town Festival will take place on the last weekend in October and the first weekend in November 2013. Over the first weekend (25th – 27th Oct) the main focus will be on music, with concerts, album launches, instrumental workshops and informal music sessions galore. Over the second weekend (1st – 3rd Nov), the focus shifts to dancing and singing. This weekend will also incorporate the 3rd Gaelic Voices Festival. Värttinä – LIFEM


Bright Phoebus Revisited draws together the members of the extended Waterson family plus some very special guests in a unique celebration of the life and work of Lal and Mike Waterson through their music. Eliza Carthy (London, Warwick and Liverpool only), Martin Carthy, Ann Waterson, Eleanor Waterson, Marry Waterson, Norma Waterson, Oliver Knight perform songs from the album, along with previously unheard and unreleased songs by Lal and Mike. Special guests include Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, John Smith, Kami Thompson, Neill MacColl, Rory McFarlane and Martyn Barker. The concerts will be directed by Kate St John. The short tour begins in London at the Barbican (11th Oct), before heading to Warwick (Arts Centre, (12th), Liverpool Philharmonic Hall (14th), Brighton Dome (15th) and Colston Hall, Bristol (16th). The tour will be accompanied by the publication of a book Teach Me To Be A Summer’s Morning featuring paintings, drawings, stained glass designs, poems and lyrics, as well as a CD of previously unreleased material by Lal Waterson.
