What advice would


you give other clubs or potential clubs about starting a similar pro- gram? Believe in yourself and your program; secure the team who share the same interest and belief; secure a funder who will support the program in its initial stage and this could be the club itself or the coaches themselves; be prepared for any unforeseen challenges and remain truthful to your goals and aspirations for your program.


What has been the key


to your success to date and what will ensure that IMCI is successful well into the future? Success is still in the making with IMCI. It will be a continuing process until we are able to send junior athletes who qualify for a place on USA Shooting’s National Teams and eventually represent


the United States in the Olympic Games. To ensure this process, IMCI will need to attract young, promising athletes that can be introduced to shooting as an alternate sport and to savor its existing juniors. IMCI has also to maintain a viable fi nancial plan that will sustain its programs.


Belita Perez is President of


Vizcaya Bank and concurrently Director of Financial Manage- ment at City University of New York. She has an MBA in fi - nance and completed advanced studies in Strategic Financial Analysis from Harvard Busi- ness School; Wharton School and St. John’s University. She is a certifi ed level 3 Coach and competes as a sharpshooter in bullseye and International pistol competitions. She also shoots trap, sporting clays and rifl e and makes her own wine and beer.
