Houston in 1962. He did his residency at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals from 1963 to 1967. He served as a captain in the U.S. Air
Force from 1967 to 1969, became board certified in otolaryngology in 1968, and performed clinical research in otology, otolaryngology, and head and neck can- cer at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Butler was in active practice for 20 years. He was the founding partner of the Austin Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic in 1969, which currently has 12 otolaryn- gologists including his son, Robert Butler, MD.
Governor makes TMB appointments
Gov. Rick Perry reappointed three physi- cians and three new physician members to the Texas Medical Board (TMB). All are TMA members. Reappointed were:
• Michael Arambula, MD, San Antonio, a psychiatrist and adjunct professor at The University of Texas Health Sci- ence Center at San Antonio Depart- ment of Psychiatry.
• Scott Holliday, DO, University Park, an anesthesiologist at Pinnacle Part- ners in Medicine.
• Margaret McNeese, MD, Houston, as- sociate dean for admissions and stu- dent affairs and a professor of pediat- rics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
New members are:
• Devinder Bhatia, MD, Houston, a tho- racic surgeon and president of South- east Texas Cardiovascular PA. He is a former clinical assistant professor in The University of Texas Health Sci- ence Center at Houston Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Sur- gery.
• Robert B. Simonson, DO, Duncanville, past president of Physicians Emergen- cy Care Associated and chair of the Methodist Dallas Medical Center De- partment of Emergency Medicine. He also is an associate clinical professor
