One step ahead TOOLS

Walter AG has added a new solid carbide X·treme Step 90 chamfer drill to its Walter Titex brand.

to which drilling and chamfering are performed in one operation without the need for a tool change. Walter AG supplies these stepped tools for a diameter

T

range of between 3.3mm -14.5mm (M4 to M16 x 1.5). The range also caters for fine pitch threads. Diameters and lengths which diverge from the norm for thread cutting, for example in thread forming, can be supplied via the Walter Xpress service within a few days. All other tool characteristics are the same as those of

the standard drills from the X·treme family. Walter states that an XPL coating on an aluminium chromium nitrite base guarantees maximum tool life and also allows the tools to be universally used for all ISO material groups. A point angle of 140 degrees and four lands enable reliable spot drilling and perfect guidance even on sloping surfaces, when both starting and exiting the hole. In addition, versions are available either with or without internal cooling.

he X·treme Step 90 chamfer drills are stepped tools specially developed for creating threaded core holes according to DIN 336 Part 1. The dimensions of the tools meet the requirements of DIN 8378, according
