Looking for information about “Big Joe” Co- peland. His heritage in 1700s was in North Carolina, eventually moved to Copeland, Co., Tenn., where he was given land. His ancestors were some of the people to survey Indian Ter- ritory. One family of the Copland people had children in Arkansas by 1796. I am a direct descendant of the Copeland/Coplen fam- ily.
