The successful launch of the ∞curl tables in Milano earlier this year led Constanze Schweda to further explore this innovative design method. Inspired by the Japanese art of Kirigami, whereby a sheet of paper is cut and folded into a three­dimensional form, the tables are made from a single sheet of steel, sculpted into shape. The manufacturing process employs both industrial production techniques and traditional craftsmanship to create these delicate looking structures. Based on the same principle, Constanze has designed a series of new sculptures for wall application and self­standing. www.kiridesign.co.uk

Construction Specialties (C/S) will be launching its first PVC free protection sheeting, Acrovyn 4000, at this years 100% Design. Developed with the same high­impact strength as original Acrovyn, the new eco­ friendly sheeting is completely recyclable and can also contribute to a LEED or BREEAM certified building. Fully fire tested, Acrovyn 4000 sheeting ensures compliancy with EN 13501­1 requirements to meet the UK Building Regulations. EDGE is an all­aluminium chair designed for comfortable usage. It is simple, durable and stackable, and it has a modern, timeless design. The product’s great advantage is that it is stackable and light enough to be easily manipulated. Robots manufacture the chair in several stages; first, a metal plate is cut out using a laser, then it is bent according to the drawing and welded, and the surface is finished with comaxite.
