Borrowdale Gates was built in 1861 by a local philanthropist. After years as a private home, it was turned in to a hotel in the early 1900’s. Today’s owners have been at the helm of Borrowdale Gates for just over three years, and in that time they have made substantial changes to the building, lovingly renovating it into the spacious and modern hotel it is now.
