“The CNC router has also enabled us to do

different types of cabinetry,” Parks explained. “Since we introduced it a couple of years ago, we’ve been able to build frameless, full overlay cabinets. This would have been a very time consuming process before. We have table saws and still use them, but the router allows us to complete certain projects better in a production setting.”

From free estimate and design services to comple- tion of installation, Parks Custom Cabinets is on the job from start to finish. The company will see the project through until the final drawer pull is in place. Parks serves northeast Oklahoma from Grand Lake to

Kitchen cabinetry is a big part of the business, but you’ll find Parks’ handiwork throughout the home. Wet bars, bathooms and laundry rooms also need storage. In 2011, Parks introduced a modular closet storage system. Parks is especially proud of its progressive finishing

system. They utilize Gemini, an Oklahoma company, for their finishing products. Most stain mixing is done in- house. A variety of traditional and specialty finishes are available, including popular faux and distressed looks. The results speak for themselves. Wood products such as knotty alder, maple, hickory, walnut and cherry have never looked better.

Cabinet assembly.

“I may be biased, but I think the finishing system we have here is world-class,” said Parks. “Our finishes are as durable and rich as anything you’ll find.”

Parks can help

homeowners make the best decisions when it comes to countertops and hardware. They offer laminate

countertops with every option imaginable, including beveled edges, which can make a laminate top look a lot like granite or stone. “We also do under-mount sinks in laminate tops which eliminates the lip around the top of the sink and creates more of a look you would see when using granite,” said Parks.

While Parks doesn’t fabricate granite or stone tops, they work closely with companies that do in order to help

Tulsa. Projects include new homes and remodels. Last year was a record year for the company and 2012 has started with a bang.

Hardware options are numerous with new styles being introduced constantly. Soft-close systems are especially popular. Proving that there is something for everyone, Parks even offers an electronic closing system that features a servo drive. Simply nudge the cabinet or drawer and voilà. “We’re on top of all the latest trends in hardware,”

Parks said. “We can take ‘em as far as they want to go.” Added Parks: “That is one of the exciting things about what we do as a custom cabinet shop. We do a lot of high- end, very unusual things in addition to building cabinets.” If you are this good at something, people can’t help but take notice. Parks is as good at what it does as anyone around and people are taking notice. Cherry Berry, a popular self-serve frozen yogurt franchise based right here in Oklahoma is experiencing exponential growth. The company sought out the services of Parks Custom Cabinets to help furnish new stores across the country. “We have jobs pending for stores in eight states right now,” said Parks. Parks Custom Cabinets is a family business with Bruce’s wife Nancy, twin daughters Tiffany and Whitney, and son Travis each playing an important role.

Taking care of business as a family is a longstanding tradition for the Parks. Bruce’s great-grandfather Robert Calhoun Parks owned the harness shop on Main Street in Chelsea. The family has always been self-sufficient. “If something needed to be done, we’d just find a way to do it. If something needed built, we did it. There was always plenty of help around,” said Parks.
