My husband builds barbed wire fence and his jeans get the front of the legs torn, but not the backs of the legs. After his jeans can no longer be patched, I keep them and use the good material from the backs of the legs of his jeans. I cut the used material in fi ve-inch squares, sew the squares together to make a big enough piece to cover the wood bottom and new pad for the chair seats. I also use sweat- shirts that are no longer being worn to make the chair pad. I put the board on the sweat- shirts and trace the shape of the board with a “sharpee”marker, then cut the front and back of the sweatshirt to fi t the board. I use fi ve shirts per chair. I also used the denim material to make a cushion for my piano bench. I used the stuffi ng from a big throw pillow that was not used, to stuff the piano bench cushion. Hope you enjoy the thrifty tip!
