EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW PREVIEW continued

Expanded DeWalt line-up

DeWalt will preview several new ranges that it plans to launch to the tool hire industry during 2012. This will include the expansion of its XR Lithium-ion cordless range, with additions such as an 18V jigsaw, a grinder, and bare units, designed to provide increased runtime, power and performance over previous models. They also incorporate an ‘intelligent’ switch,

designed to guard against tool and battery failure, and come with a three year warranty. Other

introductions include a new dust extraction system called Air Lock, which is designed to allow quick connection from a power tool to any dust extraction unit via a range of adaptors. New accessories will include a depth control device for setting the drilling depth for fixings, saw blades for cutting Trespa sheet material, and a diamond edged abrasive chop saw blade. DeWalt will also show several recently launched products, including the DWS780 high-capacity 305mm mitre saw, and the D25960K low-vibration 16kg hammer.

GenQuip hogs the show

GenQuip, which offers the Groundhog welfare units range, will be launching five new products at this year’s Show. The GP360 mobile unit has been updated with a new eco-friendly range, called Fusion, which joins the standard offering. The Fusion line-up is designed to offer environmental benefits and savings, whilst maintaining the ease of use and robustness of the established version. A new static range will also be unveiled, incorporating the patented Hoglift 2 low-level lifting system, designed to be operated from ground level. The stand display will include a new concept in on-site security called the

GuardHog, which is described as having an innovative layout and generator design. The fifth newcomer is the Hogloo 15 effluent waste management system, which is particularly suited for portable sanitation provision in remote areas.

Duro forges ahead

Duro will display a new diamond blade designed for maximum safety and incorporating

HDF segments, which are welded using high density forging, derived from the automotive industry. This is claimed to give a bond with virtually zero porosity for greater strength. During manufacture, the segments are heated to very high temperatures and then pressed quickly to form a complete diamond segment within seconds, rather than being sintered slowly in a furnace.
