ON THE COVER Diade - Ultimate control and connectivity

Weightron Bilanciai’s powerful colour touch screen Diade weighing terminal is now available in three dedicated versions for use in a wide range of industrial weighing

applications in the solids, bulk, chemical, food, processing, quarrying, waste and recycling industries. The three versions provide control for applications in general weighing, manual dosing and driver-operated weighbridges respectively. This versatile instrument family provides the flexibility and power of an industrial touch screen PC, combined with the precision of a ‘weights and measures’ approved weighing terminal. The result is unsurpassed connectivity, data management and tailor-made control capabilities.

T

he large resilient 26 cm colour touch screen is built to survive heavy handed use and the easy-to-use intuitive graphics and pictograms make on- screen navigation and control extremely straightforward. The extensive input-output options include analogue and digital configurations (including pulse inputs), whilst the range of connectivity options ensures seamless integration for small or large systems alike. The Diade can be used with both analogue and digital load cell weighing systems. For added performance, Weightron’s

Winweigh IV software package integrates perfectly with the Diade design philosophy to offer the ultimate in versatility for weighbridge systems.

Diade 1050

The entry level Diade 1050 offers a wealth of operational features typically found on more expensive weighing terminals. Applications cover all aspects of weighing - from floor scales to process weighing, across a diverse range of industries. The instrument is particularly suited to manned weighbridge applications and the configurable software interfaces seamlessly with clients’ data bases, removing the need for a local PC. One Diade 1050 can be used for two separate weighbridges, either in parallel or combined modes and the system is ideal for either single (stored tare) or duplex weighing. In a typical application, the Diade stores and displays details on product type, vehicle number-plate and client - the weighbridge operator simply touches the screen to make the selection at each stage of the weighing process. The versatility of the 1050 is highlighted by the range of external identity devices that be connected. These include optical 1 and 2D scanners, magnetic card readers, RFID readers/writers and number- plate cameras.

The Diade is ideal for upgrading existing weighbridge systems, irrespective of make or

type. Upgrades can be carried out with the minimum of site disruption. The optional STB80 high speed thermal printer has multiple ticket printing capabilities, removing the need for weighbridge operators to purchase pre- printed weighbridge tickets.

Batching and dosing with the Diade1050

The dedicated Dosing Version of the Diade 1050 provides the perfect tool for a wide range of manual dosing and batching applications. The intuitive software manages the dosing of multi-components based either on pre-set recipes or batch data sent from a central PC via the Ethernet network. Easy to follow screen prompts guide the operator throughout the various operations. The 1050 can store almost unlimited product codes (each made up from a 25 character alphanumerical key).

Associated with each code are a 100 character alphanumerical description, a 50 character batch identifier and a displayable field reporting the quantity of processed product in real time. Maintenance of the log can be executed via the touch screen interface by entering, deleting or modifying products and their preset target values. The ability to connect 1 and 2D barcode readers and scanners, facilitates correct ingredient/batch selection during the dosing process. For added accuracy the 1050 can be used
