GIC hires J.P. Morgan's Khullar as a fund manager

Government of Singapore Investment Corp. (GIC) has hired Arjun Khullar from J.P. Morgan as a fund manager. Khullar has spent 16 years at the US investment bank, most recently as head of international listings in London. Prior to that, he was co-head of Asia equity capital markets, based in Singapore.

Brazos Private Equity Partners Appoints Glenn Askew

Brazos Private Equity Partners announced that Glenn Askew has been appointed managing director of business development, a new position. Askew will lead the firm’s deal sourcing activities and will be working very closely with the firm’s investment banking, advisory and other intermediary relationships. Askew joined Brazos in 2004 and has played a leading role in a number of the firm’s investments in the healthcare, food & beverage and industrial distribution sectors. Prior to Brazos, he spent five years with Goldman, Sachs & Co where he completed numerous advisory and financing transactions in multiple industries, including consumer products, business services, retail and general industrial.

Electra Partners Strengthens Investment Team

Electra Partners LLP ("Electra Partners") announces the appointment of Chris Hanna as Investment Partner with effect from 1 September 2011. Chris brings with him over 10 years of private equity experience, most recently at Phoenix Equity Partners where his investments included Nationwide Autocentres, NFT, ASCO and Ashtead Technology Rentals. Chris will work alongside Alex Fortescue and the other Investment Partners in investing Electra Partners' £350 million investment capacity in what the company expects to be a very good period for investing.

Rubenstein named CEO of BlueMountain Europe

Capital Management (BlueMountain), a private investment firm specializing in the global credit markets with $7 billion in assets under management, announced today it has named David Rubenstein CEO of BlueMountain Europe. Mr. Rubenstein, who joined the firm in 2006, will also continue in his roles of both CFO and General Counsel on a global basis. He is a member of the Founders' Council of the Managed Funds Association and serves as the Chair of the OTC Advisory Group to its U.S. Legislative Policy Committee.
