ROGER VAL PERPETUAL TROPHY Honored for his 29 years of service with the NCGA ending in 2010,


ROGER VAL, the former director of championships and events, had the NCGA Four-Ball Championship trophy named after him. The winners of the fi rst ever Roger Val Perpetual Trophy were J.R. Becko and Jason Higton. The duo was the only four-ball team to shoot all three days in the 60s (68-68-69) and went 41 consecutive holes without a bogey at Spyglass Hill to win the 45th Annual NCGA Four-Ball Championship. Val was on hand to present the trophy to the champions.

Poppy Hills Golf Course (June 4) and Poppy Ridge Golf Course (June 11) with more than 45 participants. The June seminars focused on rules involving water hazards, bunkers, obstructions and the putting green. On-Course Rules Seminars take golf- ers out on the golf course and show actual situations golfers may fi nd themselves in. If you missed out on the two great opportunities


to learn the Rules of Golf there are two more coming this fall: October 10 at Granite Bay GC and Octo- ber 17 at Boulder Ridge CC. The fall seminars take place from 8:00-3:00 p.m. and will go over the top- ics of teeing ground, out of bounds, ball unplayable and scoring. The seminars include a continental break- fast, lunch and a 2010-2011 Rules of Golf Book at a $30
