Nickelodeon Pleasure Beach offers new wristband

Following the launch of Nickelodeon Land in May, the Pleasure Beach in Blackpool, England, has introduced a wristband allowing access to this new children’s area of the park.

The £18 ($28.75/€20) wristband allows parents or children to enjoy unlimited riding with on all Nickelodeon Land’s 12 attractions, as well as the Pleasure Beach Express, Chinese Puzzle Maze and South Beach Show. An upgrade is available to those who decide they want to sample the rest of the park’s rides and attractions. Previously Pleasure Beach guests had to purchase a full wristband at up to £32 ($51/€35.60) – though available online this summer for £22 – to enjoy Nickelodeon Land’s attractions. Since our original profile was published last issue, Dora’s World Voyage has been completed and is now

fully operational at Nickelodeon Land. The attraction is based around a Round Boat Ride from Mack and takes passengers on a journey across four continents, where they make new friends and learn to say “hello” in four languages – complete with catchy theme tune.

Climbing high in Denmark

A summer activity park in Denmark has added a new high ropes course courtesy of Innovative Leisure. The twin-level attraction has been installed at Sommerland Sjaelland in Nykøbing, about 55 miles west of Copenhagen, The seven-pole Sky Trail Navigator course, which has been named Klatrefidusen (“Climbing Trick”), fits in well with Sommerland Sjaelland’s other active offerings including canoeing, trampolining and a waterpark. A similar attraction was exhibited last winter at IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando. The new course, which took just eight days to install, has been set up to cater for 35 participants at any one time, providing an hourly capacity of 100. “There are lots of elements for visitors to try,” notes Innovative Leisure’s Phil

Pickersgill. “It will be particularly interesting to watch how it performs as it the first course we have completed that is included in the entrance price to the park [rather than an upcharge].” “Our guests have given us fantastic feedback on the new attraction,” reveals Sommerland Sjaelland owner Kaare Dyvekær. “It has confirmed to us that it was the right decision to choose something that provides a physical activity as opposed to a more passive experience in, for example, a rollercoaster. We have also seen an additional benefit, with sales in the adjacent food and beverage outlet rising significantly.” Innovative Leisure is a European distributor for US manufacturer Ropes Courses Inc, among other suppliers.

Twirlin' Tea Cups at Seabreeze

For its 133rd season of operation in Rochester, New York, Seabreeze has introduced Twirlin' Tea Cups, a classic family-oriented attraction from Zamperla. Six colourful cups with custom designed artwork by Seabreeze revolve on a rotating platform around a tea pot. The ride replaces a PTC Tea Cups ride installed in 1955.
