DeKalb, Illinois, Lodge Presents Bryan R. Klatt for Grand Secretary Whereas, The officers and members


of DeKalb, Illinois, Lodge No. 765 do recognize and appreciate the dedicated service and support rendered to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America, the Illinois Elks Association, and the DeKalb Lodge by Bryan R. Klatt; and


Whereas, He was initiated into the DeKalb Lodge in November 1985, serving on numerous committees before becoming exalted ruler in 1989–1990 and serving as lodge secretary from 1998 to the present; and Whereas, He has served the Illinois Elks Association as vice president of the North Central District in 1992–1993, as state chaplain and Americanism chairman in 1993– 1994, as third (1994–1995), second (1995–1996), and first (1996–1997) vice president, as state president in 1997– 1998, as chairman of the Advisory Committee in 2000– 2001, of the Convention Committee from 2002 to 2004, and of the Leading Knight/Officers Training Seminars from 1998 to 2008; and Whereas, He served as district deputy in 1994–1995, was a member of the Grand Lodge Membership Committee from 2001 to 2008, serving as chairman from 2005 to 2007, served as cochairman of the LouGER Committee to then Endorsed Candidate for Grand Exalted Ruler F. Louis Sulsberger, and has served in the position of Grand Secre- tary since 2008; and Whereas, He was a co-owner of Kallal’s Sheet Metal, Incorporated, is a member and lector at St. Mary Catholic Church, past chairman of the HVAC Board of the City of DeKalb, a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus No. 717, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 586, and is a regular volunteer in his community in various school, civic, and athletic activities; and Whereas, He has accomplished all the foregoing with the help and support of his family, sons, Gregory, Andrew, and Lucas, and his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Susan; now therefore Be it resolved, That the officers and members of DeKalb,


Illinois, Lodge No. 765 are honored to present to the Grand Lodge Convention in Phoenix, Arizona, for the ensuing year, the name of Bryan R. Klatt as a candidate for the office of Grand Secretary of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America.

Willmar, Minnesota, Lodge Presents William A. Schindele for Grand Treasurer Whereas, The officers and members of Willmar, Minnesota, Lodge No. 952 do recognize and appreciate the dedi- cated service given to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America, the Minne- sota Elks Association, and the Willmar


Elks Lodge by William A. Schindele; and Whereas, He was initiated into the Willmar Lodge in November of 1970 and became an active and dedicated member, serving as exalted ruler in 1978–1979, serving as treasurer for twenty-eight years, the last eighteen years consecutively, was selected as Elk of the Year in 1985 and was elected honorary life member in 2003, and continues to serve his lodge in many capacities; and Whereas, He has served the Minnesota Elks Association as state president in 2001–2002 and is currently serving and has served as state treasurer for the past six years and was selected state Elk of the Year in 2007, was selected state Camper of the Year in 2009 by the Minnesota State Project Youth Camp Board, and has served as a Ritual judge for twenty-one years; and Whereas, He has served the Grand Lodge of the Benevo- lent and Protective Order of Elks by his presence at twenty- six Grand Lodge Conventions, by judging at two national Ritual contests, by serving as the district deputy for the Central District in 1987–1988, and by serving as auditor to the district deputy for six different district deputies; and Whereas, He serves his community as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a life member of the VFW, serving our country from 1966 to 1968, serving in Vietnam in 1967–1968, and is an active member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, serving on the administrative council for the past seven years; and Whereas, He accomplished all of the foregoing with the help, love, and support of his wife of forty-four years, Barb, his daughter Cindy and her husband, Paul, his daughter Stacey and her husband, Paul, his son, Scott, all of whom are Elks members, and six grandchildren, Kristin, Kira, Kalley, Jordan, Cassaundra, and Jackson; now, therefore Be it resolved, That the officers and members of Willmar, Minnesota, Lodge No. 952 are honored to present to the Grand Lodge Convention in Phoenix, Arizona, the name of William A. Schindele as a candidate for the office of Grand Treasurer of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America.
