Snecma designs, manufactures and supports engines, alone or in partnership for civil and military aircraft, launch vehicles and satellites. Snecma is also a world leader in customer support services for commercial and military aircraft engines


The company is organized in 4 activities.


Commercial Engines Snecma develops, produces and markets the CFM56, the world’s best-selling commercial engine, through CFM


International, its equally-owned subsidiary with GE of the United States. Snecma is also a partner to GE on several large turbofans: CF6, GE90, GP7200.


In the regional aircraft market, Snecma and partner NPO Saturn of Russia develop and produce the SaM146 propulsion system for the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet through their joint subsidiary PowerJet.


Snecma is also developing the Silvercrest, a new jet engine designed for business aircraft.


Military Engines Design, development, production, sale and support of jet engines for combat and training aircraft, as well as turboprop


engines for military transports. Snecma engines power over 20 different types of military planes in nearly 40 countries. Our flagship products include the M53-P2 turbofan engine for the Mirage 2000, the M88-2 for the Dassault Rafale fighter, and the TP400 turboprop, produced by a European consortium, for the Airbus A400M military transport.


Space Engines Snecma, the cryogenic propulsion leader on Europe’s Ariane 5 launcher, designs, develops and produces propulsion


systems and equipment for launchers, space vehicles and satellites. As supplier of the Vulcain®2 and HM7B™ cryogenic engines for Europe’s Ariane 5 ECA, Snecma is the world’s leading manufacturer of liquid-propellant engines for launch vehicles. We are also the European leader in plasma propulsion with the PPS®1350, already proven on ESA Smart-1 lunar probe.


Services Snecma offers a complete range of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for both civil and military aircraft
