Important Findings Star Boy and I made it back to the village safely. At first, I felt disappointed. But now, I think of the experience diff erently. Aſt er all, we did learn a lot about this region. Aſt er Lake Edib, I found three other
fishless lakes. But they teemed with other forms of life: frogs, dragonflies, diving birds, freshwater shrimp, and crabs. And I did find fish in other places. In
addition to the other lakes, I sampled 33 rivers. I collected more than 3,500 fish specimens and about 10,000 aquatic invertebrates. T is collection gives other scientists a
beginning for further study of the crater lakes ecosystem. As for me, I’m planning my next expedition.
