INSIGHT #2: PROJECTS TELL YOUR STORY
In developing the ProView for John A. Johnson & Sons, I turned to the first two pages of the company’s book, showing the list of projects and contracts that it had suc- cessfully delivered. Take a look at these pictures here or go online at www.johnajohnson.build and click on the current projects tab. In my re-creation of this brag book online I included all of the awarded contracts. From hospitals to schools, housing to laboratories, military camps to manu- facturing plants – even the New York World’s Fair!
This general contractor had a proven record of delivering on many building types and contract types. In the firm’s book it used the term “high-speed contracts” vs. design-build! What an interesting use of words – and in some ways a more accurate statement of the value that design-build brings.
LESSON LEARNED:
I think we can all learn from this example ProView as we promote our bodies of work. Don’t rely on the last project as the prime example of your firm’s skills. The web is friendly when it comes to space – list all of your projects and make sure you highlight the types of projects as well. It is critical that you show your variety of work; and don’t forget that keywords are strong drivers for SEO!
Successful projects completed by John A. Johnson & Sons.
