The Gift of Thanks

TMAF’s Holiday Tribute and

Ornament The holidays are

approaching quickly. To simplify your

holiday shopping, TMAF has two stress-free gifting

opportunities: the Holiday Tribute Program and Radko ornament.

Here’s how TMAF’s Holiday Tribute Program works: Make a donation to TMA Foundation in someone’s name, and your honoree will receive a stunning holiday card letting him or her know you’ve made a generous gift in his or her honor.

If you prefer to give a holiday memento, a limited number of TMAF’s Christopher Radko ornaments are available. The ornament features “TMAF” hand-painted along the side. Proceeds benefit the TMA Minority Scholarship Program.

Don’t worry about how to thank family, friends and colleagues — use the TMAF Holiday Tribute Program or purchase a Radko ornament to spread holiday cheer.

Go to https://tmaf.ejoinme.org/2016Holiday to donate online or call (800) 880-1300, ext. 1664, to make a gift and order an ornament. Please place your order by December 15 to ensure your gift is received before the 25th.

SOLUTIONS PRESIDENT’S COLUMN

The season of being grateful is certainly upon us. I am especially thankful for each of you and for your generous support, which has helped thousands of Texans to lead healthier lives in 2016. This year we approved a record amount in grants to TMA and the Family of Medicine health improvement, quality and science initiatives. The $589,000 in grants that supported 25 programs was only possible by your gifts being joined with the gifts of others. I hope as you read this newsletter, you will share our pride in the variety of ways Texans are benefiting from the initiatives you have helped make possible.

I’m also very grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who carry out these programs month after month across the state. Medical students are providing preventive services to Texans along the border. Physicians are providing specialty care at no charge to uninsured Texans. And alliance members are organizing vaccination clinics and fitting helmets on the heads of little Texans.

Community and business groups across the state are a vitally important part of creating a Healthy Now and a Healthy Future. I am grateful to the dozens of schools, civic clubs and other organizations that collaborate to put thousands of helmets on the heads of young Texans and to the bank that lets its drive-through window be the “drive-thru shot clinic” to protect the elderly and others from the flu … and to the public health and safety experts who share their knowledge and expertise to enable us collaborate effectively towards “improving the health of all Texans.”

The list of supporters, collaborators and volunteers is long. TMA Foundation thanks each of you for caring about the health of others and contributing what you can towards a Healthy Now and a Healthy Future for more Texans. We also thank our special Fall newsletter underwriters — TMA Insurance Trust and Frost.

Throughout the year, but especially during this season of thanks, we are most grateful for you!

Yours in good health,

Deborah A. Fuller, MD President, TMA Foundation
