Cost of Service Change By Zac Perkins


During my January CEO View, I mentioned our cooperative would be conducting a cost of service study. The study has been completed and the results have been reviewed by TCEC’s Board of Trustees along with the management team. The results of the cost of service study indicate the need for an increase across most rate classes.


The three primary drivers for the increase are:


1. Rate increases from TCEC’s wholesale supplier and a need to better align rates to recover costs as they are incurred by the cooperative.


2. Several large business member bankruptcies the cooperative has endured over the last few years.


3. Winter Storm Jupiter which crippled the eastern half of the cooperative’s territory. We had to repair more than 120 miles of downed line from the storm

State of Oklahoma Citation of Recognition


TCEC received a Citation of Recognition for the eff orts of the cooperative and its employees during Winter Storm Jupiter in January 2017. Oklahoma District 61 Representative Casey Murdock made the motion for the citation, which was signed by the Honorable Governor Mary Fallin. In the citation, Murdock made note of TCEC living up to its cooperative values as well as the long hours and personal risks of the employees following the devastation of the storm. n
