Exhibitors from all parts of the supply chain presented their products to attendees of CastExpo in Minneapolis.

or four days in Minne- apolis, exhibitors displayed their new technological
developments to people who stopped by their booths. From the beginning of the casting process to the shakeout, all links of the supply chain were included, giving companies the opportunity to check out potential new investments to help improve their business.
MELTING AND POURING EQUIPMENT
Metal Processing Materials Blasch Precision Ceramics, Albany,
New York, displayed a wide line of products for nonferrous metal process- ing, including degassers, immersion heater tubes, nozzles, down and pour spouts, bricks and lining, launders
and tundishes, stopper rods, and its DuraLadle Auto Ladle produced from “oxytron” silicon carbide material which is non-wetting to aluminum and requires no coating.
Electric Heating Elements for Diecasting
Custom Electric Manufactur-
ing Co., Wixom, Michigan, showed attendees its line of heating elements for diecasting equipment, incuding coil elements, ceramic fiber elements, tubular elements, and its Easy-Fix lids with individual element modules that eliminate the need to shut-down equipment to replace elements.
Cupola Technology Five years ago, Air Products, Allen-
town, Pennsylvania, renewed efforts on
a cupola technology to address rising costs, declining scrap quality and lim- ited availability of foundry coke, and the company shared the result of this effort—Air Products Cupola Oxy-Fuel System (APCOS)—at CastExpo. Now in its second generation, APCOS2 uses solid fuel to reduce charge coke usage and increase the energy delivered to the melt zone by reducing the water vapor and hydrogen created in the combustion process.

York, is a metal manufacturer of more than 3,000 metal compositions and shapes. At CastExpo, it featured its master alloys, deoxidizers and degasifi- ers, and custom alloys.

Texas, was on hand at CastExpo to dis- cuss its low alloy steels, stainless steels, and nickel alloys used to create highly reliable, durable products. Te supplier also provides a complete suite of weld- ing filler metal solutions and services.
