Taurus 80 Opening Illinois Diecasting Operation
Taurus 80, Torino, Italy, is set- ting up its first U.S.-based facil- ity, Taurus Die Casting LLC, in Rockford, Illinois. The zinc diecaster is hiring 37
full-time workers and will invest $6.4 million into a 44,000-sq.-ft. facility. Taurus 80 manufactures zinc parts for automotive safety belts and employs 268 people in its
facilities in Italy and Tunisia. According to the Rockford
Register-Star, $500,000 in remodel- ing work has begun for the Taurus Die Casting LLC facility. Per the report, Roberto Marselli,
president and CEO of the Rock- ford company, visited the area last year to fi nd the right spot for the U.S. expansion.
“Our customers, our suppli-
ers are in the U.S., mostly in the Midwest. That’s where the growth is,” he told the Regis- ter-Star. “So this is where we needed to be. The labor force here is key.” Marselli said the company hopes to have 75 employees there within fi ve years.
