Spring transformation Every spring I am reminded of the

beautiful budding trees, what warm sunshine feels like on my skin and the sense that all is new again. I rearrange furniture, get my grill ready for dinner parties, and prepare for longer days and warmer nights. Living Lutheran represents a transformation of

what the future of storytelling in the church will be. Like all things new, growth requires the ability to be ever changing and to strive for excellence. We received gracious feedback from readers on the April issue and the new Some good, some bad—we appreciate all of it and feel fortunate to have such passionate and invested readers. We heard your concerns and have already made adjustments in this issue based on your comments. You will see bolder fonts and more vibrant colors. We will continue to listen and work tirelessly to better our storytelling, design and relationship with you, our readers. As we, the staff, continue to live out our

vocations by bringing you a monthly magazine and website, this issue lifts up others in their vocations. The cover story reminds us of how weekly worship grounds us for lives of faithful service and profiles four Lutherans whose vocations enable them to serve others. This theme carries into other stories as well—check out Kylie Oversen, this month’s “I’m a Lutheran” who serves as a state representative; the Good News Garage (page 22), guys who fix up vehicles for those who need them; and the pastor who prays with strangers in a coffee shop (page 28), for instance. Spring blessings to you as you also live out your faith in your roles and relationships.
