National Convention 1965 The Auxiliary’s 51st National Convention was held in the grand ballroom of the Sherman
House in Chicago, Illinois. Sophia Goldstein was National President. During her term, she collected contributions to establish a library at the National Home for Children and was the fi rst woman to serve on the VFW’s national “Buddy”® Poppy committee.
