Your Voice. Your Vote. What Delegates and Alternates Need to Know

MAY 31, 2016: REGISTRATION CLOSES for all National Convention events and for National Convention Delegates and Alternates. Delegates can be entered online, by mail, fax or emailed to info@vfwauxiliary.org.

Auxiliary Meetings: Any member in good standing may be elected as a Delegate or Alternate. See Sec. 309. Delegates are elected for every voting body from District to National Convention. They do not need to be the same members for each.

103rd National Convention: Resolutions that are forwarded to National Headquarters by March 31, 2016, will be voted on. Only Delegates and those with a vote as a National Officer have a voice in the decisions affecting our National Bylaws and Ritual and in determining the elected national officers. Check the website, vfwauxiliary.org, for those items that will be voted on.

Auxiliaries get one Delegate and one Alternate for every 50 members or a fraction thereof on the day they are elected. Secretaries need to either enter them online by logging in or by mailing a list of names and membership ID numbers within five days of the election to either the Department Secretary or to National Headquarters. Remember: There is NO Delegate fee for National Convention.

* Auxiliary Secretaries are encouraged to print out a list to verify that those entered were posted.

Department Treasurers: In preparation for National Convention, see Sec. 813C, Department Treasurer Reports-Financial, Page 91. Give your Department Credentials Chairman a list of delinquent audits for Auxiliaries and Districts and forward the same list to National Headquarters or let National Headquarters know that all are in compliance within five days following your Convention.

*If an Auxiliary doesn’t turn in its audits, DELEGATES CANNOT VOTE AT DISTRICT, DEPARTMENT OR NATIONAL CONVENTIONS!
