Grab a bicycle – we keep them onboard – for a leisurely ride* to a country village for a treat and free time, then bicycle back to the riverboat. If bicycling is not your thing, join our guides for a walking tour of Dürnstein; if you wish, hike above the town to the ruins of Kuenringerburg Castle. 6.  SALZBURG & HELLBRUNN CASTLE Dock in Linz for a visit to Salzburg, where The Sound of Music is set and Mozart grew up. Outside of town, take a private tour of Hellbrunn Castle, built centuries ago for the entertainment of the Prince Archbishop of Salzburg; get to know his inventive sense of humor from his trick fountains, grottoes, statues, and water-driven animatronics! In Salzburg, join us for a walking tour and then enjoy time to explore further on your own. 7.  PRETTY PASSAU


Walk off the riverboat this morning into Old Town Passau’s 17th-century Bavarian world of romantic lanes and cobblestone streets. At a local café, try your hand at traditional marzipan making, creating imaginative animals, flowers, and other shapes. After lunch, return to the riverboat. Join us for a fun-filled farewell reception followed by dinner aboard ship; cruise to Vilshofen. Meals BLD

Note: Children under 18 must be booked in a cabin with at least one adult. Accommodations for families of 3 or 4 in Categories 1 through 6 consist of two adjacent, but not connecting, double cabins. Triple and quadruple accommodations in Category 7 consist of a suite featuring a pillow top queen-sized bed (with optional twin-bed capacity) and a full-sized pull-out couch. Please note that Category 7 suites accommodate a maximum of three adults over the age of 18.
