THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF MARINE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATIONS
ICOMIA is the international trade association representing the global marine industry since 1966. We unite national marine industry associations in one global organisation and represent them at an international level.
35 marine industry associations across the world are members of ICOMIA today. ICOMIA’s membership is estimated to represent more than 90% of the world’s leisure boating business. With the help of our members throughout the world ICOMIA acts internationally on behalf of the recreational marine industry.
ICOMIA:
3 Provides a forum for its members in which to consider issues of common concern, to collect relevant data and to formulate agreed policy.
3 Lobbies national governments and international organisations in order to improve boating safety, protect the environment and promote international trade.
3 Promotes awareness of the recreational marine industry’s requirements and objectives, including the improvement of boating safety.
3 Financially supports the development of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Standards. ISO Standards ensure products are safe and reliable.
3 Maintains close dialogue with international bodies, national governments and other regulatory authorities on behalf of its members.
