Congratulations also to Paul
Wilson and Marilyn Tucker, who set up Wren Music in Okehampton, Devon, in 1983, who have been awarded highest accolade in English folk music, the Gold Badge from the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS). It's being presented by Eliza Carthy; the citation is being read by Doc Rowe, and there will be a performance by Peggy Seeger, a patron of Wren. It's all happening at a special awards ceremony at the Cygnet Theatre in Exeter on 22nd July.

In June, the banjo and music-
making duo Pharis & Jason Romero suffered a catastrophic fire in their banjo workshop and home in BC, Canada, which not only devastated their business and vintage instruments, but also all of their records and CDs. Fundraisers are being held locally to help them rebuild, but you can also support them by buying their great digital albums via
