PRIORITISING PLAY
Holyrood’s event on Prioritising Play will provide an opportunity to evaluate progress on the Play Strategy for Scotland. This event will not only allow delegates to explore the many opportunities for increasing and improving play, but will address how to better incorporate children into this process as well. The overall goal is to ensure that play for children continues to be positively supported in homes, nurseries and schools, and communities, and this event is an excellent opportunity for relevant stakeholders to ensure that this issue remains near the top of the policy agenda over the next fi ve years. We hope you can join us.
Keynote speaker: Marguerite Hunter Blair, Chief Executive, Play Scotland

CHILD Neglect
Neglect is the most common reason for being made subject to a child protection plan. For every thousand children living in our communities, one child has been formally identifi ed as being at risk requiring services because of neglect. At this event we will be exploring child neglect in detail, recognising the multiple forms that neglect can take and the challenges identifying it. In doing so we will consider interventions and toolkits that can assist practitioners to act to help families.
Keynote speaker: Sally Egan, Director and Child Health Commissioner for NHS Lothian
